Canadian rapper Drake has suffered another high-profile betting loss after Spain defeated Argentina in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, costing him a staggering $1.5 million.
Had Argentina won within 90 minutes, the rapper stood to earn more than $5.1 million.
Instead, Spain emerged victorious after substitute Ferran Torres scored the only goal of the match in the 106th minute of extra time, sealing a 1-0 win and handing La Roja their second FIFA World Cup title.
The result also ended Argentina's hopes of defending the trophy and reignited online jokes about the infamous "Drake curse", a long-running fan theory claiming that teams or athletes backed by the Canadian superstar often end up losing.
While the so-called curse has no factual basis, Drake's latest unsuccessful wager quickly became a talking point on social media, with many fans joking that Argentina became the latest victim after receiving his public support.
